Lampwork beads These borosilicate lampwork glass beads have been handmade in the UK. They are made indivdually using a torch and glass rods and no two are the same. Shape can be non-uniform, part of the handmade appeal of these beads.
Spacer hole size is uneven and varies between beads, averaging 2-3mm. Spacer beads may show a line where the glass has joined - this is part of the forming process.
The unique spacer beads have been made using odds and ends left on the workbench at the end of a flameworking session and are in effect a way of recycling otherwise unusable glass.
Pendants are individually made, with a hole approx 8mm wide added for threading. These are very special focals for necklaces.
Each bead is different, the beads are very tactile and have that very special borosilicate glass look.
All beads are annealed for strength.
